Regional Flood Risk Projections under Climate Change

چکیده
Abstract Flood-related risks to people and property are expected increase in the future due environmental demographic changes. It is important quantify effectively communicate flood hazards exposure inform design implementation of risk management strategies. Here we develop an integrated modeling framework assess projected changes regional riverine inundation risks. The samples climate model outputs force a hydrologic generate streamflow projections. Together with statistical hydraulic model, use map uncertainty projections for extreme events. We implement rivers across state Pennsylvania, United States. Our suggest that Pennsylvania overall increasing change. Specific regions, including main stem Susquehanna River, lower portion Allegheny basin central Delaware River basin, demonstrate higher In our analysis, dominates surrounding projection chain. combined uncertainties can account as much 37% total uncertainty. discuss how this provide dynamic flood-risk assessments help risk-management

Climate change in Central America and Mexico: regional climate model validation and climate change projections
Central America has high biodiversity, it harbors high-value ecosystems and it’s important to provide regional climate change information to assist in adaptation and mitigation work in the region. Here we study climate change projections for Central America and Mexico using a regional climate model. The model evaluation shows its success in simulating spatial and temporal variability of tempera...
متن کاملFlood risk zoning due to climate change under RCP 8.5 scenario using hydrologic model SWAT in Gis (Azarshahr basin)
In the present time, with the increase of industrial activities and the neglected environmental issues, the effects of climate change have become more evident and poses this phenomenon as a global difficult. Increasing the probability of occurrence of extreme climatic events such as flood and increasing the frequency and intensity of the effects of climate change. The northwest of the country i...
متن کاملClimate change projections of the North American Regional Climate Change Assessment Program (NARCCAP)
We investigate major results of the NARCCAP multiple regional climate model (RCM) experiments driven by multiple global climate models (GCMs) regarding climate change for seasonal temperature and precipitation over North America. We focus on two major questions: How do the RCM simulated climate changes differ from those of the parent GCMs and thus affect our perception of climate change over No...
متن کاملA flood risk projection for Soleimantangeh Dam against future climate change
A sensitivity analysis of the flood safety of Solaimantangeh dam using a regional climate change simulation is presented. Based on the output of the CCSM (Community Climate Change System Model) general circulation model, the NIRCM (North of Iran Regional Climate Model) computes regional scale output with 50 km spatial resolution and 21 vertical layers. Using the SRES (Special Report Emission Sc...
متن کاملAvian distributions under climate change: towards improved projections.
Birds are responding to recent climate change in a variety of ways including shifting their geographic ranges to cooler climates. There is evidence that northern-temperate birds have shifted their breeding and non-breeding ranges to higher latitudes, and tropical birds have shifted their breeding ranges to higher altitudes. There is further evidence these shifts have affected migration strategi...
